NI Traktor Pro 3.3 unterstützt Music App, Catalina und neue Hardware kommt

Es ist noch nicht lange her, dass wir in diesem Artikel von den Entlassungen bei Native Instruments berichteten, doch heute gibt es indes wieder „good news“ zu vermelden. NI Traktor Pro 3.3.0.5 ist da.

Und es bringt MacOS Catalina Support und und integriert nahtlos die neue macOS 10.15 Music App, ähnlich wie es sonst bei iTunes auf früheren macOS-Version war. Laut Native Instruments Forum-Post zur neuen Traktor Pro besteht folglich keine Notwendigkeit, die Arbeitsabläufe zu ändern.

Traktor Product Owner Friedemann Becker hatte bereits letzte Woche Neuigkeiten im Traktor Forum zu berichten. Hier der Originaltext aus dem NI Forum:

“We’ve been rather silent lately, but behind the scenes we only had one thought: “How can we deliver value to as many of our loyal users as possible?”

The answer has been easy: besides fixing more bugs, delivering much requested compatibility to our legacy controllers for TDJ2 we have to support macOS Catalina from day one, and we want to make sure that everybody using iTunes for managing their music can seamlessly continue to do so on their respective operating system – not a trivial topic, and one that required plenty of attention.

We intend to kick off a public beta of TRAKTOR PRO 3.3 in a few days, and everybody’s welcome to help us iron out any final undiscovered issues both on the current operating systems and (for whoever’s brave enough) on the current beta of Catalina.

We’re also due to release an interesting new piece of hardware later this year, as has already been hinted at in our press statement quoted by some of the tech blogs. Some test-units are being sent out to external testers this week – so we’re almost done on this front too.

That’s all I can say today, because I only want to share things that are basically ready for release. We have more cooking behind the scenes and most importantly: after the reorganization this summer, we have reached a good team velocity which enables us to deliver updates more frequently.

So stay tuned for even more news later this year, but also don’t overestimate our capabilities. Besides TRAKTOR PRO 3 we are also working on longer-term projects. So bear with us.”

Man hat sich also erst mal auf die Integration der NI-Controller für Traktor DJ2, das MAC OS Catalina Update und iTunes konzentriert und ruft die „mutigen Updater“ auch gleich zum Public Beta Test auf.

Neue Traktor Hardware

Ein weiterer interessanter Punkt hier: Es soll eine neue Hardware kommen, die bereits an ausgesuchte Tester versendet werden soll. Klingt interessant, doch was kann das sein?

Vielleicht ein neuer Add-on-Controller à la F1 Mk2? Ein Kontrol Z1-Nachfolger für Traktor DJ2? Der lang ersehnte Nachfolger für den Traktor Z2? Oder vielleicht auch ein weiterer DJ-Controller ohne Jogwheel, der den S8 beerbt. Man stelle sich auch mal einen Sidewing wie den D2, allerdings mit Jogwheel neben seinem Mixer vor – das wär auch eine coole Sache.

In wenigen Wochen dürften wir mehr wissen, denn die Hardware soll noch dieses Jahr erscheinen.

Kommt noch mehr?

Friedemann betont auch, dass die kürzliche Reorganisation des Traktor Teams zu einer guten Team-Geschwindigkeit geführt hat und dass man hinter den Kulissen noch an weiteren Süppchen kocht – wir sind gespannt.
